1962 Ford Galaxie 500 Convertible

What a pleasure to drive this 53 year old convertible!! With a 390 CI engine, power steering, power brakes and power convertible top, this beauty is the complete package. When you turn the key, the 390 instantly jumps to life and idles smoothly while you adjust the AM radio to your favorite station. After you have accomplished that, you will notice that all the gauges work perfectly!! Then, while the power top is going down, you realize that this three owner has been extremely well taken care of. As you slide the cruise-o-matic into gear and head out onto the open highway, you notice how smoothly the transmission shifts and that maybe you’ll just skip work today and really enjoy cruising with the top down.

This car was sold new in Boise Idaho and came to North Carolina in 1989. It is a solid, rust free car that runs and drives like it did when it was new in 1962. The car still has the original trunk, floor pans and body panels. It has received one repaint over the years and the current paint is faded and could use buffing. All chrome and trim are in great condition. As the body plate notes, this is an original “Z” code 390 CI car.
