1970 Cuda Convertible

WOW – I just don’t know how it gets any better than this!!!  A 1970 Cuda Convertible with a 440 6 pack.

This Cuda has received a full nut and bolt rotisserie restoration with no expense being spared.  After the sheet metal was massaged to perfection, the original color of Rally Red was flawlessly re-applied to the laser straight body.  When you walk around this heavily optioned Cuda, you can’t help but notice the mirror like finish and all the panel gaps that line up perfectly.  You will also notice the rare and highly sought after code A22 which is the elastomeric color coded bumper package and the famous shaker hood package with the 440 6 pack call outs.  When you look at this car, you will quickly notice the interior is on point as well and is show room fresh.   This vehicle sports the optional leather covered seats and an AM/FM radio.  The crystal clear gauges are impressive to say the least.   Then you see the slap stick shifter.  After all of that you come to the convertible top that is power and what a convenience it is to have a power top!!

When you open the shaker hood, you quickly notice the freshly rebuilt 440 6 pack with Holley carbs sitting in the spotless engine bay with all of the correct colors and it is show room fresh.

When looking under the Cuda, you quickly notice it is as clean and tidy as it gets supporting the Bullet Proof 727 automatic transmission and the 8 ¾” rear end with 3.55 gears and posi traction sure grip.

Though this Cuda left Plymouth’s assembly line as a Barracuda Gran Coupe with a 318 CI engine, it has been correctly transformed to a Cuda with the period correct 440 CI 6 pack engine, transmission and rear end.   The rare Barracuda Gran Coupe was the top of the line trim package and very few were ordered with the convertible body style. This exceptional Cuda has only been driven 1,700 trouble free miles since it received its restoration which also included the complete brake and fuel system, steering and suspension.

You can really appreciate that this is a 50 year old car that is basically brand new and looks as if it is 1970 all over again and you are at your local Plymouth dealership.   This car is a pleasure to drive from the moment you turn the ignition switch and hear the 440 come to life and then push the button to drop the top.  Tap the slap shifter into gear and go enjoy yourself!!  The power steering sure is nice and the front disc brakes help with stopping.  When you decide it is time to turn it up, just push the gas pedal and this Cuda takes off like a missile!  It will definitely push you back into your seat as if you were taking off in a jet.

In summary, this Cuda is an exceptional car receiving the highest level of restoration and has been meticulously maintained.  This is definitely an investment grade Cuda that you will not be disappointed in.  It is highly sought after, collectable and will only appreciate in value.
